Mini- vacation #4

Part 1

Judy and I met John, Rachael, Flora, and Lucy on Sunday afternoon for our vacation at a cabin in Canaan Valley State Park. We were located in Cabin 3 and discovered as soon as we arrived that we would be having regular visitors during our stay.









The girls appreciated the view of deer from our deck -upclose and personal. Lucy and Flora were especially excited when the fawns would arrive with their mom. A little buck also was a regular visitor. The antlers are now in the wonderful "velvet" stage.


The cabin was located near the playground area.




What is a sloth doing in the mountains of West Virginia? Tis Miss Flora on the monkey bars!

Both girls were excited about the swings.

John did the cooking for the week. Below is a fresh chicken ready for the grill. It has been marinated in margarine, rosemary, and other wonderful herbs.

John requested a rock be found so that it could be used to press the chicken while grilling. Rachael came up with the rock below. John and I assured Rach that her rock was overkill and would collapse the grill!

Dad Meads found the rock below. We all agreed that the size was more appropriate for our purposes. Tomorrow will be adventures along the Blackwater River Trial
