Last Friday was the date for the Gilmer County Relay For Life at GSC's Morris Stadium. It was certainly a beautiful evening.
Kudos to the folks that planned and implemented the activities. What a great job of organization! The first walk at 7:00 P.M. was dedicated to the survivors of cancer.
The golf carts were ready to carry those folks that needed assistance walking.
Do you not think that we cancer folks looked really dapper in our purple?
I am trying to keep up with Sharon Phares and daughter Kris. They are such a joy! The second walk around the track was the time for all survivors and caretakers to hike. On the third walk, all folks, including the community, particpate.
My love, Miss Judy, is wearing her flowers. I love walking beside a bouquet!
It is amazing to see the variety of ages that cancer touches in our community. I am one of the lucky ones. I have my 5th infusion of ABVD on Wednesday and I had my 2nd PET scan last Monday. I should know on Wednesday if the tumors have been reduced by the therapy. Will keep you informed.
Here is a guy that is in REMISSION. Ed Toman and his family have traveled a hard road, but his therapy has resulted in remission of his cancer. HURRAY!
His son and our landscape specialist, Jordan, proudly supports Ed.
What can I say about Ed's wife, Michelle? She is such an important part of the Relay For Life Programs. She is a super lady!
Let us look around at a few of the folks participating in the 2009 Relay For Life. I am holding hands with Grandma Great while Kim Jones walks (and talks) with us.
Sadie Kelble is posing with Judy and me.
Here is Jonathan Ramazan and his son. How that little one has grown!
Speaking of little ones - here is a gal who believes in helping with her transportation.
Along with Michelle Toman, Kipp Covlin is another person that made this event a success. His energy is amazing! I am proud to have Kipp as a friend.
I will close this Relay For Life blog with a touch of romance.
