4th of July In The Park

Grandma Great had to get her hug from Uncle Sam. We all had such a good time watching the folks in the park. What is that critter on top of the Rumsey Monument? The answer is in the latter portion of this blog.

Rachael, Grandma Great, and Judy were checking out the kids enjoying the festivities.

Flora loved the water slide! She really enjoyed this water experience.

Grandma Great decided that a lama was too large for her lot in Spencer even though she really wanted to take one home. They are really beautiful animals and have a neat demeanor.

I should have taken a close up shot of the top of the monument. The cropped photo at the beginning of this blog, which was taken from the following photo, showed what critter on top of the monument? Twas a black vulture posing and looking over the crowd for a possible meal. (SCARY!)

The folks in Shepherdstown really supported this event. This was the first time in over 50 years that the 4th of July celebration was held in the Rumsey Park.

Flora and Lucy attended the puppet show. It was not Sesame Street!

Two bands played from 5:30 - 9:00 P.M. The large rocks in this area made a great backdrop for their performances.

Tomorrow tis the end of our Shepherdstown vist. It will then be time for Mini-vacation #3 after ABVD!
