Glimpses of the Folk Festival
It is a rainy Friday so thought I would post some more photos of Thursday's sights. The Country Store Museum has been newly painted. The volunteers are ready to man the store. Carolyn and Maxine moved from the opening ceremony to volunteer in this building - the heart of the Folk Festival

Fran Schmetzer is also helping this day. Fran was the chief volunteer in charge of the store for many years.

Music has started and jam sessions are everywhere in town including the Country Store Museum.

The craft folks are busy. The tinsmith does exceptional work.

Yes, we even have lye soap for those with poison ivy.

Thirsty? These folks make their own brew which includes birch beer and sarsapilla.

It is always super to capture faces of the folks during the Festival. Here are a few examples. Need a doctor? These two medical folks are out on the town with their kids. Kids have the advantage of excellent transportation.

Katrina Jones is always flashing her wonderful smile.

Who is the world is this fellow? He is Doug Wood who is portraying the Cherokee leader, Ostenaco. Would the real Ostenaco eat deep fried potato swirls? Judy and I went to his performance at the Historical Society and learned much about this Indian leader.

Tomorrow - more Festival views.
