The Columbus Zoo

My friend, Brenda West, was kind to share this video celebrating the news that the Columbus Zoo was voted #1 zoo in the country by USA Travel Guide this year. Brenda's daughter, Lisa, works at the zoo. That is one job that I would have definitely loved. However, I was blessed to be able to work in another job that I loved - teaching!

I have never been a big fan of Jack Hanna. Everytime he is on TV it seems that he is really concerned about being bitten by the critters his associates are showing the audience. He also does not know specifics on the different species that are being shown. I know- I come from the past where Jim Fowler and Marlin Perkins of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom were my TV show heroes. You know the drill- as Marlin drinks tea on the bank doing the commentary, Jim is wrestling an anaconda in the river.

Our family loves the Columbus Zoo and it is on our destination list for a mini-vacation. Enjoy the video below! (I believe ole Sir Hanna would be better off to leave his chewing and gnawing critters and go to Broadway!)
