Ferns and other thoughts
Today is Mom Meads birthday. Happy Birthday, Grandma Great! You are now officially 85 years old. What a great lady! She has been a great role model for her kids, grandkids, and now great-grandkids.
I thought I would share our fern gardens with you all. It is so super to see the lush growth that these ostrich ferns exhibit. Scattered in among the ostrich are Christmas ferns, madenhair, sensitive, ebony spleenwort, New York, hay-scented, broad beach, Japanese, interrupted, and some other varieties.
OK- this is my Foxglove on steroids! It has been blooming and growing for quite some time. The flowers started at the site where my left hand is located. As you know, the blossoms of the foxglove emerge up the stalk.
Is it plant or animal? Tis Jordan! Yesterday, Jordan came and used his high tech weedeater on the hill. He is our Landscape Specialist. Note the vegetation attached to his skin- that is what happens when one weedeats in the rain. Thanks, Jordan, for all of your help.
This morning we are off to the Farmers Market. The volunteer folks have added a connector to the two shelters and it is now really is a fine market.
The WV Folk Festival is only 4 days away. All volunteers are busy! Ya'll come - ya hear?

Jim, Saturday would have been my mother's birthday too. She was born in 1927. She was on my mind all day. I miss her.
