Saturday at The Black Walnut Festival

On Saturday morning Mom, Judy, and I went to the Boy Scout's pancake breakfast held at St. John's Methodist Church. The black walnut pancakes and sausage were yummy! The boy scouts and their leaders were certainly busy.

After breakfast, we went to rent our chairs. Alas, all chairs were already reserved. Judy and I went into action and set up our folding chairs on Main Street so we could see the Grand Parade without our legs collapsing. The parade lasts around two hours.

The Parade began at Noon (well, some time after noon!). The parade was full of politicians this year. Are we surprised?

Leading the parade were Mayor Terry Williams and his wife.

Now, who is this lad? He walked up the street waving and mumbling something about not being endorsed this election by WVEA. It was our Governor Manchin and his wife Gayle.

The parade, of course, included the Black Walnut Festival royality. The Black Walnut Queen and her court came gliding up Main Street in their royal carriage. Tomorrow let me conclude the Black Walnut Festival with a few views of the parade
