Disney World
Downtown Disney - Part Two

Yes, I left you yesterday with this dragon living in the lagoon around Downyown Disney. What is its construction material? Well, I will give you a small hint. It is located across from a great Lego store.

Yes, the dragon is entirely made of Legos!

We needed a snack and decided to have a prehistoric nibble. The restaurant T- Rex was amazing. It is fun for all ages.

The inside is designed to look like the Jurassic period, with rooms themed to look like the Ice Age, a Fern Forest, a Shark Room, Geo-Tech Room, Aqua Room, and a Shark Bar with a giant octopus over it. There are also rumors of a geo thermal room with hot "lava" oozing over the walls with a waterfall to create steam.

Every thirty minutes the action starts. There are meteor showers that fly across the ceiling. All dinosaurs and other prehistoric critters come to life. Click on the link below to see the animatronics and the meteor shower show.

As you can see from the photos above and below, the ice caves glow in different colors.

We did not eat under T-rex, but we did have a mother mastodon and her young that kept us company.

This was certainly a great place to stop, rest, and have a light appetizer.

Judy was a little tired so she tired to hitchhike with this fellow, but the Segway man decided that his transportation device would only allow one person to be transported at a time.

Here I am with my friend in front of the Irish pub, Raglan Road. You may want to know who the gentleman is who shares my bench? Tis Pat Kavanagh!
The "real" Raglan Road is located on the south side of Dublin. It was made famous by renowned Irish poet Patrick Kavanagh in a love poem entitled, "The Dawning of the Day." In the 1960s, Irish folk singer Luke Kelly first put the poem to music. "Raglan Road" has become a seminal Irish song and has since been covered by such artists as U2, Sinead O'Connor, and Van Morrison. As a tribute to Patrick Kavanagh, a specially commissioned bronze sculpture of the poet sits outside Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant at Downtown Disney.

The weather did not allow us the opportunity of seeing the park in this huge tethered balloon ride called Aerophile - Characters in Flight. The balloon takes guests 300 feet into the air from the waterfront. The 72-foot-diameter balloon can lift up to 30 guests at a time on a six-minute "flight," by day or night

Seems as if that mouse creature is around every turn - even in Downtown Disney.

Our dinner was early so we could make it to the show, La Nuba at 5:15 PM. We ate at Fulton's Crab House.

We had a seafood platter and it was quite excellent,

We concluded the evening with a theater preformance of La Nouba - t'was certainly outstanding.

La Nouba is a mesmerizing and extraordinary avant-garde circus spectacle performed by Cirque du Soleil exclusively in the Downtown Disney West Side area at Walt Disney World Resort.

La Nouba is performed at an exceptional theater built especially for them. The show's international cast of acrobats, athletes and performance artists—including more than 65 artists representing 15 countries—delights and mystifies with daring acts of grace.

La Nouba translates to English as "to party, to live it up," and this theme is evident in the energetic performances, the colorful costumes and the moving live music.

Tomorrow we are off to Animal Kingdom! Keep tuned in, friends.
