Disney World Resort
When I was having chemotheraphy at the WVU cancer center this past year, Tammy Henning (who is a great chemo nurse) told us about their family trip to Disney World. She was so enthusiastic about Disney that it became contagious. Judy and I decided to book seven days this month at the Florida theme park. What a great choice!
We flew out of Yeager airport in Charleston on Saturday (4:00 PM) and landed in Orlando around 5:30 PM. We took the Magical Express from the airport to the lobby of the Port Orleans Riverside Resort and checked in.
We were so pleased with our lodgings. The luggage transfers and transportation were efficient and without stressw. The mill below is part of the food court and is the location of Boatwright's Restaurant where ate the evening of arrival. The food offerings were varied and very good.
Did I mention that we started our gourmet adventures with Blackened Mahi-mahi over grilled grits with green tomatoes?
Fulton's General Store is also located in this area - a place to buy snacks, gifts, and even some common cosmetic and drug items.
We wore light jackets, and of course, I wore short most of the week until the rain came later on. We heard so many people say, "Boy, it is cold!" We had to chuckle because we knew at home it was in the 20's with snow, snow, snow! We had temperatues around 58 degrees and a couple of days the temperatures were in the high 60's.
Here are a few photos taken around the resort.
We found the peddle cars to be most interesting but did not rent one. At Disney one gets plenty of leg exercise walking.
There was a water taxi at the resort's dock that travels from the resort to Downtown Disney. We did that on Wednesday.

Hey Jim!
I am so glad you are back out that hospital!
Love the post and glad that you had a nice time at Disney. I am anxious to read the upcoming episodes.
We have never stayed at Port Orleans, but it looks great.
It was a great place. Keep in tune for more adventures!
