Last Night was Night Out!

The first Gilmer County Night Out was a success. It was held on Main Street at the corner where the old Ford garage once stood. This area hopefully will be a park one of these days soon. A good crowd attended the event.

Glenville and county law enforcement were out to show their support. Sheriff Mickey Metz is shown below performing magic tricks for the kids.

The Town of Glenville's police force provided kids the opportunity of touring the police cruiser.

Tables were setup so that local organizations could showcase their presence in the community. The Folk Festival sold t-shirts and CDs. They also gave away vintage postcards.

Lori Plummer and her friends were selling baked goods for the Humane Society that is now being planned for Gilmer County.

At 7:00 our friend, Jerry Buckhammer, was the master of ceremonies for the talent show.

We had four folks who served as the official judges for the 20+ acts.

Several folks sang and they all did a fine job.

There were dancers- everything from Irish dancing to clogging. This lad did a great job clogging!

Mary McCormick had a new Pug puppy! Paula Massagote had a cuddling lesson with this cute canine!

Following are a few photos of folks that attended this event.

The Smoke House BBQ sold hot dogs and fresh lemonade. Where else can a guy buy a hot dog for fifity cents?

Twas an excellent first start to Glenville's Night Out event. Thanks to all the volunteers who made this happen!
