I just finished reading Randy Pausch's book, The Last Lecture. What a great spirit!
For those who do not know the author, he was born on October 23, 1960 and became an American professor of computer science and human-computer interaction and design at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pausch learned that he had pancreatic cancer, a terminal illness, in September of 2006. He gave an upbeat and adage-laden lecture entitled "The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" on September 18, 2007 at Carnegie Mellon, which became a popular YouTube video and led to other media appearances. He then co-authored a book called The Last Lecture on the same theme, which became a New York Times best-seller. Pausch died of complications from pancreatic cancer on July 25, 2008.
Ther book is an uplifting look at his life and experiences. I did not upload the actual lecture on our blog because it is about an hour and 45 minute presentation. I would suggest you guys with high speed internet go and see his lecture. The site is http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5700431505846055184 It may be best to read the book first in order to get the background into his thoughts and experiences.
My update - I am feeling super. Thus far, no ill effects from ABVD number two.
I did explain to Dr. Craig at the Cancer Center that I felt that he should be experiencing chemotherapy since he is providing that service to many and he should be intimate with the procedure. This is like the dentist who has never had a root canal! Judy and I supplied him with a bottle of wine from the Amish country so it may satisfy his lacking of the chemotheraphy experience. I do not believe that the wine will be a good substitute for ABVD. However, I am certain that the wine will go down better with very minimal harm (no IV!) and you can bet it is less expense than ABVD! Judy and I really appreciate what this doctor is doing in directing our chemotheraphy.

You are very welcome! I spoke with your lovely wife this evening and she mentioned my youngest son (being a TV reporter), so I thought I would share one of his latest reports with you.
