The Real Sign of Spring

Our good friend, Sharon Phares, went ramp digging along the Whitaker Falls area of Bergoo in the mountains of Webster County. She arrived yesterday at our house with a special supply of ramps for our family. She is a great friend and,when a person shares ramps (and even morels, Sharon! - chuckle), you know you have a true friend indeed!

These ramps will be added to all the ingredients necessary for our spring ramp ritual. To prepare the feast, we fry potatoes and onions, sprinkle with fried bacon, and then stir scrambled eggs into the pan with the other ingredients. The secret is then to place the cleaned ramps on top and let them steam into the potato/egg mixture. YUMMY!
