Yesterday was an interesting day. I was on the way down Interstate 79 toward Charleston when THE STORM hit around 9:30 A.M. . Twas 70 degrees before the wind and rain arrived and then after the front moved through the temperature dropped to 54 degrees. The high wind and torrential rain forced most of us traveling the interstate to pull off the road and let the strong winds and rain diminish.
Today it is cold but the sunshine is wonderful. The flowers are getting ready to celebrate their spring show. Above you can see the daffodil buds are almost ready to bloom and below the green of the "naked ladies" is lush. Remember the naked ladies do not bloom until the leaves die back. The flowers appear in August.
Another super plant, the Lenten Rose, is producing flower buds and should be blooming within a few weeks.
Snow drops are in full bloom
The aconites are also presenting their bright blossoms.
This is a great time of the year!
