Our Final Full Day

Monday was beautiful in the valley. Can you believe it was 60 plus degrees on this day? The kids went once again to walk the Freeland Road boardwalk and play on the Canaan Valley Resort's playground.

Grandma Great, Judy, and I went shopping in Thomas. The Colabrese Brothers store is a fun old-time hardware and gift shop. Architecturally the town of Thomas is interesting. There are not many active businesse
s in town. The population of Thomas is less than 500. At the beginning of the 1900's bothThomas and Davis were thriving lumber towns.

The old Cottrill Opera House is slowly being restored.

After looking around Thomas, we decided to check out Blackwater Falls.

We were blessed to have wonderful weather and another family experience that we will will not forget. Memories are so important.

The family packed up and checked out of the house by 10:00 AM on Tuesday. The weather changed and was cooler and rainy. We traveled the other way home (by Parsons) so we could stop with Sarah and the boys to see the windmills. It was foggy, but it was still a great view.

We stopped in Buckhannon and had lunch at the Doughnut Shop. They have the BEST pepperoni rolls and doughnuts. Yummy. Arrived home around 2:00 P.M. What a great time!
