They Are Back!

Last Friday I included in the family blog several photos of the butterfly weed fruits and seeds. I noticed then that our old friends, the milkweed bugs were starting their visit to our plants.

You can see that our milkweed bug population has now returned in full force. The nymphs with their black wing pads and orange bodies are extremely attractive. I do not see any mature adults with fully developed wings at this time. It will not be long, however, before the nymphs will transform themselves into the adult form.

Each summer I look for these critters. They do not disappoint and always present their showy life cycle.
