Nags Head - Surf Side

When we left Hatteras, Judy and I traveled Highway 12 north through Frisco, Buxton, Avon, Salvo,Waves, Rodanthe, and finally to the area of Nags Head. When we left the ferry we were hungry and were excited to relive our memories of eating at Bubba's BBQ. We went through Frisco and could not find our premier eatery. Finally at the Caper Hatteras Light House Information Center, the Park Staffer told us the sad news that Bubba's was no more! Sometimes change can be a hard pill to swallow.

We did have a BBQ in Waves where folks were actively kite boarding. Looks as if that sport might be fun if I had another body! We settled on our hotel, Surf Side, and selected an ocean front room. It was another great choice.

The Surf Side Hotel provided free on-site continental breakfast with a nice selection of hot and cold offerings. Our room was large and had a wide balcony complete with Adirondack rockers. The beach outside was private and the sounds of the waves spectacular.

The hotel had an outside pool area. It was still cool so.....

most folks opted for the indoor pool with hot tub.

The Nags Head area has so many memories of our family vacations. Tomorrow I will post some views around the beach area.
