One Week Ago

Oh, what a contrast from the last of February compared to a week later. The deer were so interested in the sunflower seeds and the young Japanese Kerria saplings.

We still had plenty of snow and ice on the ground.

The pond was slowly thawing. You would get a cold "bum" if you tired to sit on the pond bench.

Bingo! One week later the radiant energy of the sun has started its work on our frozen Koi puddle!

Even the back porch area has experienced the spring thaw!

The deer are now missing around the sunflower seed feeder!

Here is the best news ever. Just as the snow melted.... what should appear? No, not Santa and his team of flying reindeer, but the wonderful yellow petals of aconites.

Beside the house the snowdrops are budding. Flowers will open soon!

The ole daffodils are also doing their spring thing with shoots heading toward the sun.

After several hard months of winter weather, it is a joy to see that spring is still alive and well. HURRAY!
