Another Exciting Weekend!

What are Sarah and Dave Kraus up to this fine day?

Why it is a feed at the Meads household!

On Saturday we had over 60 folks come to our house to share in our 40th wedding Anniversary. I KNOW – the kids had a surprise 40th party in Nutter Fort at the end of last month. My Judy wanted to still share the occasion with friends who may not have been able to come that day. Our REAL anniversary date is July 2nd- we had it on Saturday in hopes that that would be best to have it when most folks were available. I assure you that this is the LAST 40th wedding anniversary celebration. We will never have another 40th in our lifetime! (Unless the wife, of course decides that Labor Day would be an appropriate day for a follow-up party.)

The preceding week was a killer! (Chuckle) Clean house inside and out (thank heavens for the pressure washer!), clean windows, wash curtains, mow grass, clean decks, do some weeding – you all know the drill.

I smoked chicken thighs on Monday and froze the critters until we were ready to get them going on Saturday. Judy had fixed meatloaf, turkey, and gobbles of other yummy gourmet delights. I baked 8 loaves of bread. Our friend Judy Steele is such a blessing. Not only did she help with preparations, but she was wonderful to take charge of the food on Saturday.

We had a cake made at a Clarksburg bakery- it was half carrot cake and the other half was Grand Marnier. Kuzem and Sondra Nasseri picked up this massive cake and brought it to Glenville.

Many folks contributed to the feast. Ann Grogg and Daniel Reed showed up with this wonderful watermelon fish.

Here are some friends enjoying the dessert.

The picture below is of all the Glenville State College graduates that were in school with us. In the front row are Sharon Kraus, Sherel Daniels, Judy Schuda, Frank, and Shirley Davis. In the back row are Dan Schuda, Judy Meads, Marshall Daniels, and , yes, the corny looking fellow tis moi!
