Cancun

Here are a few photographs from Sarah and Jeff taken this past week on their vacation in Mexico. The beach looks wonderful. I am certain that Sammy enjoyed his non-alcoholic pina colada.

These were great beach pictures!

Sarah is showing the wonderful results of gametes fusing to form a morula. (That's biology talk "fer she be pregnant!)

It is a rule that a kid and his Dad can not go to the beach without a bucket!
The swimming pool at Paradisus Riviera Cancun looks huge. The white structure in the middle of the pool is a wedding chapel.

Now here is Grandpa's location at the pool. Nothing like swimming up to the bar for a hot chocolate (or rum and coke).

Sarah, Jeff, and Sammy experienced quite a variety of restaurants. Sammy poses on this horse in front of the Mexican Restaurant. Sarah said the guacamole was wonderful. I am certain that she had it at every available eating venue.

Last week we gave you some background on the Maya ruins called Tulum. Here are some of Sarah's snapshots from that area.

Sarah says "You see the tiny hole inside this temple? This hole is positioned so that the light of the sun shines through perfectly on the shortest day of the year. Amazing how the Mayan people could build such perfect structures so long ago!"

Now for Grandpa the zoologist, the family had to pose with this simian. I've always wanted a squirrel monkey, but Sarah said "IT WAS STINKY!"

I guess I am going to have to stick with my reptilian friends. Anyone want to help me wrestle this iguana?

By the way, HAPPY DECEMBER 1 - only 24 days until Christmas!
