We Are Married!

When we pulled up to Kuzum’s Place at noon on Saturday for Sam’s Birthday Party, we entered the building and had a BIG surprise. The room was decorated with wedding bells and flowers. A Power Point presentation of our 1967 wedding photos was being projected on the wall. All folks were singing..”going to the chapel and we’re going to get married.” Those kids of ours did really surprise us with a 40th wedding anniversary party!

What a party! It was amazing that that many of our friends and family attended since the weekend was a holiday. The party was catered by our favorite Italian restaurant, Minnards. Minard's supplied a wide variety of Italian dishes and, man, they were yummy. We soon noticed that the girls had duplicated our 1967 wedding with identical wedding flowers on the tables and even the cake was our 1967 model.

After eating, we dressed to prepare for the ceremony. Sarah had “borrowed some dress clothes from our closet” several weeks ago. Rev. Kenny Fisher renewed our vows. Judy carried a bouquet of flowers that, of course, was modeled exactly on her wedding bouquet of 40 years ago! We exchanged gifts. I gave Judy a diamond and sapphire ring and Judy also gave me a rock. ((I will post the rocks on the blog later.)

We cut the cake and sipped champagne. The best thing was sharing this special celebration with friends and family. We are so blessed to have so many folks that care about us. Thank you all for taking the time to be with us on this wonderful moment in our lives.

It was a great party. Congratulations. Although, Alex said the food was "Yucky" so I ate his share.

I am of the believe that you were actually surprised. That says a lot about your family's ability to lie! err I mean fib. :)

Thanks sooo much for being there, Lee. The fellow of yours is definitely "Little Lee"- boy, he is coming out of his shell.
Oh what tangled lies formed that anniversary web (Shakespeare)! I can truly say that this was the first time Judy and I have been so surprised. Guess it gets easier to surprise geratrics! Thanks again for sharing this special moment with us!
